Mind-Body Adult Programs

Mind-Body fitness programs engage your whole being, both your mind and your body. Movements may be slow and controlled or active, but the key is that your mind focuses on your body in ways that create new and beneficial connections.

Mind-Body programs such as yoga have been around for centuries, but there are newer techniques, such as Yoga for Runners and pilates, that are fueled by advancements in bio-mechanical understanding. Mind-body programs are beneficial for men and women of all ages and physical limitations.


Awakening your Chakras

Give yourself the gift of balance in this 8 week journey of Chakra awakening. There are 7 energy centres in the body called Chakras. When these chakras are open, the Prana flows through the body easily and helps maintain an energetic homeostasis, in turn leading to physical and emotional benefits. Each week you will be introduced to one of the 7 chakras using the practice of yin yoga postures. Discover new feelings of physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing. This class will be rooted in the holistic teachings of yoga but is suitable for all levels of yoga participants.

Gentle Yoga

Gentle yoga is far less strenuous than other forms of yoga. Explore basic yoga poses, with a focus on breathing, alignment and mindfulness. Therapeutic in nature, you will learn techniques to help you gain flexibility at a comfortably slow pace, allowing ample time to explore and enjoy each pose. Modifications of standard poses help to remove unnecessary strain and make it more accessible to people of all sizes, ages and fitness levels.

Happy Hips Yoga

Happy hips, happy body! Whether its from working at a desk and sitting for long periods of time or the stress of daily physical activity we tend to hold a lot of tightness and tension in our hips, this stiffness can also be influenced by our mental and emotional stress levels. Come to this class and allow your body the chance to relax and refocus as you work through flowing postures and progressive hip opening sequences to help release your hip potential. All levels welcome, no previous yoga experience necessary.

Hatha Yoga

Hatha yoga is a mindful practice, focused on alignment and form, breath awareness and calming of the mind through relaxation and meditation while challenging the bodys endurance. Hatha yoga strives towards balance of mind and body through physical postures or asanas while challenging your poise, balance and increasing your strength and flexibility. Holistic Hatha Yoga

Holistic Hatha delves beyond the physical, and explores the self as a whole, incorporating the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. This 75 minute yoga class will help you develop flexibility, strength, and balance, and will explore postures, meditation, mantras, breathing exercises and mudras. Deepen your awareness of how your physical practice affects other aspects of your life, and create an understanding of how opening and balancing the body affects your mind and emotions. Previous Yoga experience or familiarity with sun salutations is recommended. not suitable for beginners
